Not All Famous Singers Are Good Singers, ANA MEZA APRIL 2021

Have you ever heard about Jake Scott, Anson Seabra, Gracie Abrams, Noah Schnacky, or Jaden Hamilton? I'm sure your answer was no, or you just know one or two, but if I asked you do you know who Bad Bunny or 6ix9ine is, you might say yes, and you can even say they are good singers.

People assume that if something is famous or popular is immediately good or better than what isn’t. We make bad singers more famous by following them on trends, and singers that are not in the music industry, stay out. You don't need to be in the industry to be a good singer. There are good singers on social media, and they even create their own songs with their own lyrics, that have great messages.

Marketing sometimes beats talent. You don't need a good voice to be famous, you just need good marketing.

Everything is a negotiation. In the music industry you need connections to get further, not famous singers can use social media to make the right relationships and have success, but it is more difficult if you are not popular to get to be seen by people that will help you, so is more difficult for an "outsider" to be discovered.

The media has sold us the idea that to be good at something we must be recognized, in multiple spaces, as politicians, as athletes, musicians, actors. I find this article very interesting, because this topic is very little addressed on television, in a newspaper, or in any media.

In music, only the singers who "have a good image" are the ones who stand out, are the ones who are known and this creates more in society that must be eradicated.

I totally agree, most of the time a singer is classified by the level of popularity he has, and not by his talent. Day by day we can see how people stigmatize good singers, just because they don't really take the time to listen to their music, letting themselves be blinded by prejudices.

As you put it, I think that music at the moment, like many things today, is not music, it is just a trend. What is the most popular or influential "singer" in this world of music ?, and I don't mean an influence from his music, with the ability to inspire. What I mean is the number of followers, how many successful people that singer knows, and how many trends he has on top of him. What you propose is very real, and unfortunately, we have not been able to differentiate between good singers and current fashions.

You are absolutely right, although there are good singers who are famous, there are bad singers who are also famous, and the latter means that all those people who are very talented, make good music and have good messages are left behind and without the recognition they deserve. . We are in the world where everyone can be anything even if they are not good at it, it is okay until this kind of thing happens. I hope one day this changes :)
