What is more american than the FOURTH OF JULY?
Internationally, this american celebration is well-known as the most iconic celebration of american people. Parades, fireworks and lots of "American" foods are on display on this day.
This celebration represents the most profound patriotics event every year. So, if you are an american you have to celebrate this day.
What is The Fourth of July about?
From beginning to its end, it is about celebrating the declarations of freedom from The United States of America from the British Empire. However, in the school we focused more on the cultural customs that make part of that american celebration. Having our students learn about those typical things Americans do on that day, and do you think there is anything more "typical" than food, I don't think so!
MAKING FOOD
As part of our intention this year is to teach our student vocabulary, and then help them use it in a meaningful way. Teacher Laura brought a very fun, practical idea to both teach the kids about the iconic celebration of the United States and the vocabulary of all those delicious snacks they have on that day...
Talking about food, What is your favorite? Do you like hot dogs and burgers? or you prefer something more homecooking-like. In America, people enjoy fast food, specially in this kind of celrbation, where they need to share food woth a lot of people from their family and friends.
Ingredients, creativity and a lot of imagination was put into this very fun task the children enjoyed in class.
Sausages and mustard, a very common food eaten during the American celebration, Grills and cold sodas to go with... Hot dogs and burgers, Yummy!!!!
Learning always has to do with the ability to have fun while experimenting on new things, learning is about experiences and happiness, if not... Why don't we ask our smiling students from preeschool?
